A-Train was high on Compound V, barreling forward, completely oblivious to the fact that he was about to turn Hughie Campbell's girlfriend into a red paste on the pavement. I stepped off the curb, directly into his path. A lazy grin spread across my face as the world slowed to a crawl. BOOM. [System Notification: Emotional energy collection complete. Evolution points acquired!] From that exact moment, the corporate-sponsored playground of Vought International had a brand-new variable. Think the Invisible Man is untouchable? A tungsten alloy rod shoved through the eye socket puts an end to that corporate asset in thirty seconds flat. Does The Deep want to corner Starlight in the locker room? Let's see how well he swims after a single kick snaps his spine like dry kindling. And Homelander? The god of this pathetic world? The day he finally corners me, eyes glowing crimson, screaming about his superiority, those laser beams won't even singe the threads of the jacket. I’ll just catch his fist, lean in close, and whisper: “You think you're the strongest on this planet? You're wrong. You're just the noisiest one.”
