NOVEL'S EXTRA: I Will Die at the Peak

by Therionas

(Please make sure to read the note at the very bottom first.) The youngest and most feared admiral in world history—Ravien Duskbane. Renowned for his brilliance as much as his ruthlessness. To him, nothing matters except power, control, and victory. But one night, he falls asleep and never wakes up. At least, not in his own world. --- When I opened my eyes, I was in an unfamiliar room. The first thing I felt was discomfort. Luxurious silk sheets. Gold-embroidered mirrors. Heavy velvet curtains. But that wasn’t what truly unsettled me. There was a large mirror in the corner of the room. And the person staring back at me… wasn’t me. Long, blood-red hair. Eyes of the same hue. This wasn’t my body. At first, I thought it was a dream. There could be no other explanation. But then—pain. A sharp, stabbing agony piercing through my skull. And with it, memories that did not belong to me flooded my mind. The Pendragon family. Noble blood. Yet a child seen as nothing but a stain. Nameless. A half-blood. A forgotten existence. Discarded at birth. Banished to a distant land. Erased from history. By the time the pain subsided, I understood the truth. This was the world of a novel I used to read whenever I was bored. The Dark Lands. And me? I was a mere extra. A nameless shadow never even mentioned in the story. At first, I was calm. But soon, the very existence of this body made me sick. Not from anger. Not from weakness. But from the sheer revulsion of being trapped in a body that wasn’t mine. I reject this. This body does not belong to me. And I will never accept anything that isn’t mine. So I chose to die. Without hesitation, I moved. I drove my hand straight into my heart. But I didn’t die. My breath caught. I tried again. And again. Over and over. But every single time, my wounds healed. It didn’t take long to understand why. In this world, every person is born with a unique, unchanging Fate Ability. And this body's ability? “Flesh, Blood, and Bone.” It regenerates endlessly. No matter how much I cut, slash, or tear myself apart—death is impossible. But there must be a way. Someone in this world must be able to kill me. And then, a name came to mind. The protagonist. Perhaps he could end me. Wait. No. I refuse to die like that. To perish at someone else's hands without a fight, without struggle… That is beneath me. I am not someone who sits around waiting for salvation. If I truly wish to die, then first, I must rise to the top. Dying without battling the strongest beings in this world would be a disgrace. So, I will start with power. First, this kingdom. Then the continent. Then the entire world. I will rule, conquer, and seize everything. If I can truly reach the peak—then the strongest will come for me. And only then will I find someone worthy enough to kill me. Could there be a more honorable death than that? ------ [General Content Warning – Please Read Before Proceeding] Dear reader, This novel touches on many shades of darkness.
