In this world, birds, beasts, rivers, mountains, and even elements can develop spirits and become pets. Sacrificial feasts capture forbidden time, paying homage to ancient beings and blaspheming the gods. And the styles of his tamed beasts become increasingly bizarre. There’s the Shadow Spider, weaving the dreams of all living beings and entangling ancient dragons for food; the Deep Red Lord, contaminating the multiverse; and the World Devourer, consuming worlds…To this, he says: ‘My Divine Beasts are just a bit strange, they’re really not evil gods!’
