Werewolf

Goodbye To Compromise

by Underwater Autumn

Everyone knew I was the fated mate of Dominic Knight, the Alpha heir.Even though we hadn't formally completed our mating ceremony, he still treated me like the most envied she-wolf in the pack. That was until our pack took in Sloan Daniel, a lone-wolf Omega.Dominic kept going out of his way to care for her, even forgetting our anniversary.Every time, Dominic would affectionately ruffle my hair and explain, "Baby, I'm the Alpha's heir. I have a responsibility to look after members of the pack. You understand, right?"But later, at our graduation dance, he was the first to walk over to Sloan too."She doesn't have any friends in the pack. I'll dance the second dance with you."I didn't argue or make a scene. I simply stepped aside.Dominic had just been about to say more to persuade me when he froze. Then he smiled at me with the same affectionate look. "I knew you'd understand."I said nothing. I turned and walked away. But not long after I left the academy, my phone rang. What Dominic didn't know was that, just a day earlier, I had already applied to the Royal Healer Academy all the way in Moscow.I didn't want this fated mate anymore. From now on, with the world between us, we'd never see each other again.
