The Duke’s Maid Is a Sword Master

by Passion fruit

Ilena Lewis is the empire’s hidden Sword Master. She hates troublesome work, and sitting still to handle paperwork is even worse. To pay off her family’s debts, she enters the Beckman Ducal House as a maid. “I have my own preferences too, you know? Young Master, you’re not my type, so don’t worry.” The employee benefits at the duke’s household were absolutely amazing! If she wanted to survive here for a long time with such excellent pay and treatment, then first of all… “I swear to God I won’t fall for you. Please trust me.” The important thing was not attracting the attention of powerful people. If she said this much, even the handsome young master should feel reassured enough to give her work, right? “The weather is beautiful today. As beautiful as your eyes.” “Excuse me?” “Hmm, the weather changed quite a lot in just three hours.” But there seemed to be something strange about Young Master Karl. How could he say the weather was nice when it was so gloomy outside? Was he insulting her eyes for looking dull and cloudy? …And on top of that, he smiled far too often. Almost as if he was deliberately trying to charm someone. “You really don’t care?! Rumors are spreading everywhere that I like you.” “I heard the rumors, but they’re just rumors.” “And if they aren’t? If they’re not merely rumors, then what will you do?” Will Ilena be able to resist the relentless flirtations of the young master who constantly uses his good looks as a weapon, while also keeping her identity as a Sword Master a secret?
