To The Sister Who Will Be Deposed

Summary “Sister, I hope you won’t feel too wronged about being deposed. I may not have been the one who made you unhappy, but you were the one who made me miserable.” After her young younger brother, who had become emperor, died, and her always-neglected half-sister ascended the throne instead, Evelyn felt both sorrow and relief. Because she believed that now, at last, she and her newly freed half-sister Mary could live while relying on each other. But she soon realized that was nothing more than the arrogance of someone raised like a flower in a greenhouse. “Why me? Why would His Majesty do this to me?! What did I ever do wrong?!” “Well, it’s not exactly your fault. But there’s such a thing as original sin, isn’t there?” “……” “But since there’s no way to take revenge on the dead…” “Please!” “I suppose I’ll just have to destroy you instead.” At the end of the second life she had devoted her entire heart to, Evelyn made a vow. This time, she would cast Mary down and survive no matter what. There was nowhere left to retreat. Nothing left to fear. To survive, she would depose her sister and become emperor herself.
