I Need the Emperor’s Child

by 리에사

Roabellin, daughter of the Duke of Hertenes—a family said to be destined for queendom generation after generation. Yet in a single moment, she becomes a fugitive from a traitor house, forced to live in hiding. Then she receives a strange oracle. “If you bear the Emperor’s child, your family shall be restored.” To fulfill the prophecy, Roabellin leaves for the Prahenfelt Empire the moment she comes of age. ‘I’ll seduce the Emperor, have his child, and quietly disappear.’ But upon reaching the imperial capital, she hears a disturbing rumor—that the Emperor is impotent. As confusion overwhelms her, a man appears before her. “May I show you the festival as an apology for my rudeness?” The mysterious handsome stranger introduces himself as Kai and offers to be her guide. “Um… I heard a rumor. Is His Majesty, by any chance… impotent?” “Pfft—!” “Then what do I do…? If the Emperor truly is—” “I’m not impotent. And neither is the Emperor. What about me?” Swayed little by little during the festival, Roabellin convinces herself it’s just a single night of indulgence. After spending a fluttering night with Kai, she disappears without a trace. But— “We must find her. All the more so if there’s a chance she carries an imperial heir.” The man she thought was a one-night acquaintance is none other than Kaisertern, the young Emperor of Prahenfelt. To keep her by his side, he goes so far as to seal off the capital—revealing an obsession unlike any other. ‘My goal is to restore my family, not to become the Emperor’s woman!’ Will Roabellin succeed in bearing the Emperor’s child and rebuilding her fallen house?
