Project to Escape the Twins

by Gazebo

Stella, a noble princess who is looked down upon by everyone. The moment she sees her miserable future, she begins to change. Born as twins, my sister Camilla and I were both blessed by everyone. No—only my younger sister Camilla was truly blessed. Everyone in the ducal household, including my father the Duke, only loved Camilla. The reason was simple. Camilla resembled the late Duchess. So I desperately tried to imitate Camilla. Her hair color, her manner of speaking. But all I received in return were the Duke’s contemptuous gaze and Camilla’s ridicule. Still, I endured it. I believed they were my family. Until I saw that future through a dream. “Still, you’re my sister. I’m your family too.” “No, you’re not my family, or anything like that. You’re just a pitiful woman who copied me and was ignored by everyone.” One day, in that dream, I saw myself die under everyone’s cold treatment, and I made a decision. This time, I will escape this damned ducal family. Even if I have to change my destined fate. “Could I become strong if I learned the sword like you?” “I actually didn’t expect much.” “…Pardon?” “I thought it was just a child’s whim, and that it wouldn’t mean much to a young noble lady like you.” “Do you remember that time?” When a past connection was reestablished after a long time, I smiled and took Kaingis’s hand. Without knowing how this meeting would change form, or that my life, which had finally regained peace, would begin to shake again.
