Seoul, From the Beginning

by EnkiIove

At nineteen, Kang Sol-woo leaves Rhode Island behind to visit his mother in South Korea — one last stop before his father's ultimatum forces him into law school. He arrives with nothing settled and one thing certain: a deep, consuming passion for indie rock and alternative sounds. Since picking up a guitar at thirteen, Sol-woo has been writing raw, unpolished tracks, chasing a sound that feels entirely his own. Then a chance encounter with a South Korean native who stumbles upon his music changes everything — one song goes viral on YouTube, and suddenly the world is paying attention. Now in Seoul, 2016, Sol-woo faces the overwhelming dominance of the Big 3 agencies and an industry built on manufactured images. He refuses to be molded. No agency, no packaged persona — just a guitar, a sound nobody expected, and a path he has to build from scratch. Author's Note: Sol-woo's story spans several years and multiple relationships — written to be realistic, balanced, and true to who he is. This is not an instant romance story, nor does it end in a harem. If you're looking for a protagonist locked into one love interest from chapter one, this might not be the story for you. I'll stay true to Sol-woo's journey, every step of the way. A note to my readers: I'm a native Spanish speaker from Latin America, and this story was originally written in Spanish. The English version is produced with the help of translation tools. I ask for your patience and understanding — what matters most to me is sharing Sol-woo's story with you, wherever you are. This is a work of fiction set in a parallel world similar to modern-day Earth. All characters, names, places, and events are products of the author's imagination. Any resemblance to real persons or events is purely coincidental.
